[Japan: 1940-44.] A Japanese Naval Officers sword, with dulled steel blade, without tsuba, a composite and wire over wood grip, wood-lined metal scabbard with one mounting point. Some corrosion to the outside of the scabbard, lacking the pommel and the two securing pins on the handle. Length 900 mm. 35.5 inches.
Together with a late war short Shin Gunto Army Officers sword, c.1943-44. Steel blade, badly damaged, leather grip with new cloth cord binding, wooden scabbard. Length 820 mm. 32 inches.
