A LATE KOTO KATANA Late Muromachi /early Edo period. The blade of shinogi zukuri with a large hi, masame hada, notare hamon, the suriage nakago with three mekugi-ana, bearing fainted lacquer inscriptions, nagasa 70cm; the kawari nuri saya decorated with gold lacquer Tokugawa mon against aogai inlay ground, fitted with an iron tsuba, shakudo fuchi kashira and silver and gilt ‘Ho-o’ memuki, the black lacquered samehada hilt, with a sword bag.
