A two panel 'Shunga' (Spring Picture) screen with scenes of naked erotic lovers. Both panels recessed in card mounts and depicting lovers in union. The right panel includes details of a domestic interior including a meal tray with shared bowl of sashimi and view of a courtyard garden.
Each panel 105cm high, 91cm wide
Condition:
Condition: small wear marks to the speckled gold surround. possible fading to the right side fo the left hand image, faded seal mark to lower right hand corner. Minor punctures to verso of screen consistent with age, use and handling.
