of rectangular form, the cover painted to the center with an outdoor gathering, enclosed by wide band with gilt highlighted enameled floral patterns, the reverse a bird perched on the handle of a laddle in a small pond, surrounded by flowering plants; the narrow side of the box decorated with figures alternating previous objects, the interior decorated with a bird in flight above flowering peonies, the underside signed Ryozan with the Yasuda company mark.
Length 5 1/4 in., 13.3 cm.
Property from a Gentleman, Milwaukee, Wisconsin Asian Art Overall in good condition with one small chip on the edge on the narrow side.
