A Japanese Shibayama inlaid ivory tusk vase, cover and wood stand, Meiji period, the tusk finely inlaid in mother-of-pearl, bone and other hardstones with a two-wheeled flower cart (hanaguruma) to one side and a fan-tailed dove, other birds and blossoming branches to the other, inlaid mother-of-pearl rectangular signature plaque between, the cover with elephant surmount, the wood stand with carved and pierced decoration, on scroll legs united by a stretcher base, total height 57.4cm (some loss to inlay).
