A Japanese cloisonné-enamel baluster vase
Meiji period
Finely enamelled to one side with a panel enclosing a pair of quails before a profusion of flowers, the other side with a pair of swallows alighting over flowering wisteria, all on a thick black floral brocade ground interspersed with cash motifs, 14.7cm high.
Condition Report:
Metal corrosion commensurate with age. Indentations, hairlines, some associated with fine cracks to the enamels. Texturised surface to the stylised rocks of the bottom right corner painted with swallows.
