A Japanese ginbari and cloisonné-enamel vase by Gonda Hirosuke
Meiji Era
Of slender baluster form, the pale blue ground decorated with an egret standing in a pond by a tall, purple iris, the leaves in ginbari technique, signed to the base in red enamel with the mark of the artist, 30cm high.
Condition Report:
A tiny shallow enamel flake just under the breast of the egret. A few wires missing from the manufacturing process. Some very fine hairlines to the enamels, also possibly from the manufacturing, around the foot. Some scattered dark dusty spots around the shoulder, possibly a sign of over-firing.
