A Japanese silver-inset wood box and stand, Meiji period, the cover inset with a silver plaque finely engraved with two quails and leafy foliage, their beaks, legs, and eyes gilded, signed lower left, the wood box mounted to rim of cover and base with silver, the stand raised on four ruyi-form feet, together with two cased rock crystal seals, the stand 17cm wide, the box 11cm high, 15.5cm wide, 6cm deep (3)
Condition Report:
The box with light wear and burnishing to silver, a couple of nibbles to the edges, and a split to the underside of the cover visible only to the interior as it is beneath the silver inset. There is a short strip of infill to the side of the box cover just above the edge of the silver mount.
The stamps in generally good order with some wear to the boxes.
