Taisho period (1912-1926), the tapering body rising to an everted rim, applied with a fourteen-petalled chrysanthemum in gilt between two engraved scrolling borders, with stamped marks 'jungin' and 'geneido' to base, 34cm high, 1880g, accompanied by tomobako box with original liner, the cover with writing: 'Uragikugomontsuki Ginkabin' (Silver vase decorated with imperial gold chrysanthemum symbol); and 'Sousatsuryou kinmuchuu no on iroutoshite, kakuguu on goudounitekashi, Taishō juunen juuichigatsu nijuugonichi' (In order to thank those who have worked in Sobu Lodging, the silver vases are given with the attendance of all the princes, 25 November 1921) to the inside For a similar lot, see Bonhams, San Francisco, 7 Jun 2005, lot 2239.Condition Report 1880g.
