Height: 5 1/2 inches Width: 6 inches. A pair of heavy cast resin bookends designed with a faux-bronze finish. Each piece depicts a mare and foal resting together on a naturalistic, rocky ground beside a weathered tree stump. The sculptures are rendered in a realistic Western style with detailed textures representing horse hair, wood grain, and stone. The finish is a dark chocolate brown with subtle verdigris-style highlights in the recessed areas to simulate aged bronze. The reverse vertical face of one bookend bears an incised signature reading AJUTIk 87. The bases are flat and integrated into the mold, showing visible casting seams and a solid composite material where the finish has worn.
