A 'KARADASHLI' MAIN CARPET, YOMUT CONFEDERATION, WEST TURKESTAN

1800 or earlier,

approximately 247 by 165cm; 8ft.1in., 5ft. 5in.

Condition Report:
Overall in very good condition, with good pile, lustrous wool and very good colour. Some repiling and restoration undertaken since purchase. (Additional images are available from the department and the carpet can be compared with the illustration in the Rippon Boswell catalogue). The elem has been trimmed to edge of pile at lower edge and is partially extant with some losses at the upper end. A lovely piece.
