A KAZAK RUG, WEST CAUCASUS

mid 19th century

approximately 175 by 160cm; 5ft. 9in., 5ft. 3in.

Condition Report:
Lovely proportions and joyful colour. Pile good to fair, varies from 2-4mm with some knot bars beginning to appear in lower left and upper right of field and in upper border. Browns oxidised Cobbled repiar in centre of upper border (additional photographs available). Outermost end guards with restorations, flatweave later; now secured with cotton tape. Nice weave and good age.
