A KINDJAL WITH GILDED DECORATIONS

Strong, straight double-edged blade, ribbed in the center at the tip, with two, parallel, asymmetrical fullers, a small floral decoration on one side, in gold koftgari, featuring a cartouche with Arabic inscriptions, gilded as well. Walrus ivory grip, in one piece. Provided with studs with ogival, gold-inlaid cusps and trapezoid, iron rosettes, inlaid en suite, back part with rivets. Wooden, leather-covered scabbard (probably repaired), with a small compartment on the back, containing an accompanying knife. Iron chape, gold-inlaid with rinceaux. Gold-inlaid loop.
