With earlier slender tapering blade (pitted) of diamond section, tapering rectangular ricasso, brass hilt of tapering octagonal section with central double moulding and beaked downbent quillons, and flared pommel of octagonal section set with a cabochon amethyst on top, in its tooled leather-covered scabbard with brass mounts en suite with the hilt, and leather tab for suspension
