A Korean incised celadon 'Lotus' stem cup and stand, Goryeo Dynasty, 13th century, the conical cup deep and fluted on a tapered, fluted foot to recall a blossom, incised with foliage to the eight panels, lobed base incised with flower heads with raised cup support modelled with leaves around a raised floret, the cup 7.5cm diameter and the base 15cm diameter, Japanese wood box

Provenance: Bought by Colonel W. R. Hodgson in Tokyo in the early 1950s on the advice of Professor Fujio Koyama (小山冨士夫) of Tokyo National Museum and by direct descent to the current owner.

5cm body crack to cup and other hair cracks to body of cup otherwise good other than typical crazing to glaze
