About the artist: Born into a literati family, Zeng Youhe studied Chinese painting with Pu Jin and Pu Quan in Beijing. She was very much inspired by their style in her early works and this painting is one of them. In 1945 she married the art historian Gustav Ecke and moved to Hawaii with him in 1949. She continued her artistic work and was appointed professor for Chinese art at the University of Hawaii 1973-1986.

藝術家介紹：曾幼荷出生於中國北京，師從溥伒（溥雪齋）與溥佺學畫，其早期作品深受二位名師影響，此幅畫便為其中一幅。1945年她與歷史學家Gustav Ecke成婚，1949年隨丈夫赴夏威夷，從事大學教授及美術館顧問的工作。
