A LARGE BLUE AND WHITE VASE
EDO PERIOD, LATE 17TH CENTURY
the pear-shaped body rising from a slightly spreading foot to a lipped rim, painted in underglaze blue to the exterior with a ribbon-tied cash motif
Height 43.7 cm, 17¼ in.
Condition Report:
There are general wear and scratches to the surface, especially to the lower half. Ca. 1/4 of the foot rim has chipped off, together with an associated crack (ca 7.5 cm) that has been re-stuck. Expected firing imperfections are also visible, including firing cracks to the base.
