A LARGE CHINESE BLUE AND WHITE 'PHOENIX' DISH

Boldly painted with two phoenix beneath large peony blooms amidst rocks, one bird stands with its legs astride, with his elaborate tail raised, while the other mythical bird hides behind foliage, the rim with a brown enamel line, the reverse with a four character mark which reads Yu tang jia qi (fine vessel for the jade hall), with a paper label for R & G McPherson Antiques to the base, 34.7cm.
