A LARGE CHINESE WHITE JADE 'THREE FRIENDS OF WINTER' VASE

清中期 白玉歲寒三友紋大瓶
Of exceptional large size, the vase is of flattened baluster form, intricately carved in high relief and openwork, the body surrounded by the carved three friends of winter, namely pines, plum blossoms, and bamboo branches issuing from the ornamental rocks forming the base, the stone is of even white tone. Mid Qing Dynasty period.

Height: 10 5/8 in (26.7 cm) Width: 5 7/8 in (15.0 cm)

Provenance: From a Los Angeles family collection, acquired by the current owner's grandfather in Shanghai prior to 1950s.
