A LARGE FOSSIL FISH PLAQUE, GREEN RIVER, WYOMING

From the Eocene (circa 50 million years ago) a 22-inch Phareodus encaustus in the limestone slab with placed Knightia sp. and Diplomystus dentatus, the reverse reinforced and mounted on wooden frame.

CONDITION REPORT:
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

In excellent condition, the fish well preserve and prepped. As catalogued two fish have been added to the plate on aesthetic grounds. The edges have been left rough to crumble and reveal the layers of strate, these are stable but may flake slightly during transport and hanging but not affecting aesthetic or value.
