A LARGE GASTROPOD SPECIMEN

Cerithium giganteum (50 cm long), Eocene (circa 50 million years ago), presented in a custom vitrine.

This curious object is the fossilized shell of a giant sea snail, one of the largest gastropod fossils to have ever been found. A fine specimen, complete with labrum.
