4½-inch dial with enamel chapter ring and gilt centre, the movement with silk suspension and external count wheel striking on bell, signed on the backplate Charles, Rue St. Hononré, No.272, the drum mounted within a simulated rockwork case surmounted by a sleeping figure of Cleopatra, an asp wrapped around her left arm, the rectangular base with stylised acanthus border and boldly cast paw feet

Condition Report:
Dial is dirty and has some minor hair cracks. Movement appears to be complete but is very dirty and requires clean, service and overhaul, no pendulum. The case is rather dirty but otherwise in good condition and appears to retain much of the original gilding and patination. No pendulum or winder.
