A LARGE GUANGZHOU (CANTON) ENAMEL CHARGER

Painted to the center of the dish with a large vignette extending to the cavetto and depicting a rocky lakeside garden scene with clouds and a mountainous backdrop, with the immortal Shoulao leaning on his gnarled wooden staff and with two attendants, one clutching a large peach, which he appears to present to a seated official who rests on a rocky ledge, under a pine opposite, along with a standing female attendant and another standing robed gentleman with leafy skirt attached to his waist, who holds the arm of a boy before him, the scene bordered by blue enamel phoenix scrolling and a mustard-yellow ground composite floral scroll wide band at the well below a plain copper rim, the exterior sides with three equally-spaced formalized dragon scrolls on a turquoise ground above a short foot vertical ring, the base similarly painted.
