A LARGE JAPANESE HANGING SILVER INCENSE BURNER, TSURI-KORO 19th Century The spherical body pierced with blossoms, including chrysanthemum, iris, cherry blossom, prunus blossom, bamboo and peony, some embellished with gilt, the rims cast to resemble bamboo, the cord handles formed as bamboo leaves, unsigned, together with wood storage box and cover, 16cm diameter (4) - PROVENANCE: An English private collection, purchased from Bonhams, London, May 11th 2010, lot 495. - NOTE: Similar tsuri-koro is visible in the woodblock print by Toyota Hokkei (1780 – 1850) from circa 1825.Click here to share:Request a condition report
