A LARGE RUSSIAN ICON TRINITY & SAINTS, C. 1905. Comprising a large and impressive icon depicting twelve saints beneath an image of the Old Testament Trinity at top center. Each figure finely rendered with faux gemstone embellished vestments and gilt highlights. All but two figures with corresponding inscriptions identifying them. Included are: the Holy Martyr Triphon, the Venerable Antoniy of Kiev, the Venerable Sergiy of Radonezh, the Venerable Seraphim of Sarov, the Holy Panteleimon, the Holy Prophet Isaiah, the Holy Nicholas Wonderworker, the Holy Nikita, the Holy Venerable Martha and the Holy Martyr Irina. The border heavily incised with strapwork, flowerheads and geometric designs simulating cloisonné. A large and impressive icon. 21 inches x 17.25 inches (53.5 x 44 cm).
