A LARGE TWO-HANDLED ATTIC-STYLE VOLUTE-KRATER, 19TH CENTURY, NAPLES, GIUSTINIANI

decorated with bands of figures after the antique, within key-pattern and palmette borders, much of the vessel glazed black to resemble burnishing, incised G.

Condition Report:
Overall in good order and attractive.

In detail, there is a footrim chip on the side painted with the steele, this chip is about 4 cm. wide and 0.5 cm. deep, the underside of the footrim at the area of damage also has two small chips. The surface has some minor firing cracks to the necks of the swan's necks at the bases of the handles. The black enamels have some blemishes and faults from firing, typically bust bubbles.
