A LARGE YELLOW-GROUND EMROIDERED SILK PANEL
19th Century
Decorated with a full-faced five-clawed dragon to the top center above two profiled dragons below on either side of the panel and centered by a large central formalized rockwork outcrop rising from frothy breaking waves along the lower edge and with floating peony heads and bats, the sky filled with cloud scrolls and Buddhist emblems including ribboned parasols, vessels, and pendant twin-fish and further bats, the later silk border with a cell-pattern design.
