A LARGE & IMPOSING RUSSIAN ICON, 19TH C. Comprising a large and impressive Russian icon of the Kazan Mother of God. Finely painted on a gilt ground, the virgins vestments trimmed in jewels, the left border with the guardian angel, and the right border with the venerable female monastic Saint Maria. Overlaid with a finely crafted repousse and chased silver plated oklad with elaborate gilded halos. 20.75 inches x 17.25 inches (53 x 44 cm).
