A LESGHI STAR LONG RUG, EAST CAUCASUS

third quarter 19th century

approximately 282 by 117cm; 9ft. 3in., 3ft. 10in.

Condition Report:
Orientation of weaving is as illustrated in catalogue and on web. Pile generally very good, approx. 3mm generally with some gentle oxidisation to dark walnut and brown-blacks and very light wear/oxidisation in borders where there is abrash.. Original side and end finishes with herringbone tape across the ends and round the corners on reverse to secure, soumakh and remnants of knotted fringing at both ends. Good range of colours, pinks appear to be an early colour.
