(A) LOT OF TWO COLT 3RD MODEL 1851 NAVY REVOLVERS: 1852

Lot consists of (A) Manufactured 1852 and features a lengthened 10 - 1/2" octagon barrel. Single line New York address. All matching numbers including the wedge, however there is no number on the brass backstrap. Small "COLT'S/ PATENT" on left side of frame. While expertly done and very difficult to discern, the barrel length is not original. CONDITION: Retains an even patina with light rust and some pitting. Markings are clear. Grips have dings and handling marks, showing age. Bore has strong rifling with some light pitting. Good mechanical function. Gun (B) is a standard configuration 3rd Model made in 1855. This is an "Army-Navy" model with "US" under the patent marking on the left side of the frame. Grips are cartouched. Single line New York address. Matching numbers on the frame, brass back strap, trigger guard and barrel. The barrel number appears to be restamped as the font and spacing are different. Loading lever does not match, nor does the cylinder. All parts are sub-inspected. CONDITION: Retains a pleasing patina with areas of pitting and rust, frame has been buffed at one time and markings are weak. Barrel markings are sharp. Grips are worn with cartouches faint. Good mechanical function.
