A LOUIS PHILIPPE GILT BRONZE MOUNTED EBONIZED WOOD PORTICO CLOCK, 1840s, with a stepped rectangular cornice above a frieze centering three paterae mounts partitioned by bronzes of bow ribbon tied floral swags, over a circular dial with a curling tipped acanthus cast bezel and a ring dial with black Roman chapters centering blued steel Breguet hands, on an engine-turned dial face with twin key escapements and a blank oval cartouche, suspending a grille pendulum within stylized dolphin modeled sides ending on a circular bob enclosing a six-pointed star within a "C" scrolled border and stamped "92," flanked by paired Doric columns with egg-and-dart detailed capitals and stiff-leaf collars ending on a gilt circular socle and square form base, raised on a conforming stepped plinth with compressed bun feet, verso brass clockworks stamped "92." Height: 19" Width: 10" Depth: 5 3/8" Provenance: Lifelong Collection of Clocks and Antiques, Navasota, Texas.
