A Large Circa 1890's Black Wood Fan, the monture simply incised with a floral design, the black Chantilly machine lace leaf set against a background of peach silk satin to offset the regular design of roses and leaves. The verso is plain black silk. Guard length approx. 13.75 inches or 35cm. Together with A Circa 1900 Black Gauze Fan painted with pansies in shades of lilac and buttermilk, the upper border of fine floral black machine lace. The monture is lightly incised and the gorge sticks gently shaped. Guard length approx. 9.75 inches or 24.5cm. (2)

. For the lace fan, some wear to the very top edge of the leaf, slightly more wear on the verso.
