More Information
The collection exhibits varied condition consistent with age. Many of the large studio mounts show heavy foxing and brown spotting across the surfaces (photos 8, 16, and 18). There is significant edge wear and loss to the corners of several card mounts, notably a large chip to the right edge of the Johnston & Hoffmann portrait (photo 8). Silver mirroring is visible on some darker photographic prints (photo 14). The travel souvenir booklets show creases and small tears to the paper covers (photo 7). The handwritten letters show typical yellowing and fold lines (photo 6). The blue velvet textiles show some tarnishing to the silver-tone wire and minor flattening to the velvet pile (photo 20).
