Russia, 19th Century. A painted icon, tempera, gold leaf, and gesso on wood panel, depicting the Resurrection, with 28 marginal scenes and the four Evangelists. 17 1/2" x 14 3/4" x 1". Condition: Areas of scuffing/surface wear; scattered spots of loss, including along line where two parts of board are joined. There is a photocopy adhered to the back indicating the piece was used for degree work by M. [Marina?] Stekolnikova, 1984. Provenance: Private Collection, Northern California.
