late 19th or early 20th century, a Japanese version of an ancient Chinese archaic bronze, with flared mouth rim, cast with sections of cicada lappets and taotie masks, with three ringed handles mounted with a stylized moth or butterfly, the interior bottom of vessel is decorated with a large kanji character for longevity and pine tree landscape full of auspicious symbols, an inscription to the left hand side.
