A Late Old Babylonian Hematite cylinder seal

A Late Old Babylonian hematite cylinder seal, c. 17th Century BC, in the late stylized treatment, depicting a standing richly attired figure confronting a rampant bull, low altar between them and another figure in supplicated pose behind. To their right a richly clad figure sits before an elaborate altar, right hand atop a drinking or smoking vessel, left hand raised; crescent above and before him. Entire scene is bordered with a single groove above and below. L: 23 mm. Well detailed and a nice seal! Ex Los Angeles private collection.
