A Liege 20-Bore Percussion D.B Sporting Gun, And Another Of 25-Bore
The Second Signed Tecklers & Fils, Both Mid-19th Century
The first with browned twist sighted barrels, the rib inscribed in gold '.CANON DAMASSE.' within a silver inlaid oval, grooved foliate engraved tang, bright flat locks sparsely engraved with foliage, figured half-stock with chequered grip and fore-end (chequering worn), the former carved in relief with a boar's head, foliate engraved steel mounts, eschutcheon with applied brass boar, and original brass-tipped ramrod with threaded steel worm, Liège proof; the second of similar form (barrels worn, one breech repaired), engraved flat lock signed in gold capitals against blued ovals, figured half-stock carved in relief with a stag's head behind the chequered grip, escutcheon with applied brass hind, sling mounts, and brass-tipped ramrod with threaded steel worm (2)
