A London-decorated Paris coffee can from the 'Baltic Service', circa 1802
Of cylindrical shape, with a border of oak leaves and gilded acorns above a victor's laurel wreath enclosing a fouled anchor and gilt inscription 'Nelson 2nd April Baltic', flanked by further gilt lettering 'Glorious 1st Augt' and '14th February', gold line rims, 6.2cm high

The can is labelled as having come from Viscount Bridport's collection of Nelson relics sold in 1895. It had been exhibited as part of the Wentworth Wass Collection at Thomas Goode's in South Audley Street in 1898, cat. no.61.
