A Longquan Celadon Warming Bowl, zhuge wan
Heavily potted, the exterior incised with freely drawn flowering sprays, the concave warming surface fluidly drawn with the unglazed base burnt orange in the firing around a central aperture that allowed liquid to be put into the hollow interior. Together with a smaller warming bowl with loosely drawn decoration. Period: Ming. Diameter: 13 and 14 cm.

Wladimir Simon Semcesen (1906‑1969) born in Austria Hungary, settled in Oslo, Norway in 1936. In the 1950’s and 1960’s before the Cultural Revolution in China, he acquired works of art in China that he brought back to Europe.
