A Louis XV Provincial Walnut Commode
late 18th/early 19th century
the rectangular top of serpentine outline above the conforming case fitted with three long drawers and an apron pierce carved to show rocaille, raised on cabriole legs ending in scrolled toes.
Height 38 x width 48 x depth 24 1/2 inches.
Sturdy, attractive condition with newer finish resulting in a slightly "matte" patina. Worming, scratches, discolorations and minor wood losses consistent with age. Top with repaired age cracks where the boards shrank at one time. Additional photos available upon request.
