raised on cylindrical fluted tapering legs ending in brass caps and casters.
Height 29 3/4 x width 45 x depth 23 3/4 inches. Continental Furniture Sturdy and attractive with highly polished patina. Age cracks and minor veneer repairs consistent with age. Discolorations and water spots in a few areas. Metal mounts with dull patina. Additional photos available upon request. Provenance: By repute, the table left France from Chateau de Fortoiseau (used by the Germans for ammunition storage; destroyed in 1944) with the family of Raymond Tartiere, who settled in Middleburg, Virginia. President and Mrs. John F. Kennedy leased the Middleburg home from the Tartiere family from 1960-1962; the table is mentioned as appearing in the President's bedroom in a 1961 inventory of the home. Property from an Estate, Lake Forest, Illinois Provenance: By repute, the table left France from Chateau de Fortoiseau (used by the Germans for ammunition storage; destroyed in 1944) with the family of Raymond Tartiere, who settled in Middleburg, Virginia.
