the shaped rectangular marble top with a molded edge above the conforming case fitted with three graduated long drawers, raised on square tapering legs, the drawers inlaid to show floral sprays.
Height 29 3/8 x width 43 5/8 x depth 19 1/4 inches.
Property from the William Robert Smith Trust, Sherman, Illinois, sold to benefit the Animal Protective League of Springfield and Sangamon County and The Cathedral Church of St. Paul, Illinois
In overall decent, stable, usable condition.
Marble top intact but with some repaired, more noticeable to the painted underside.
Exterior of case with even finish. Some age splitting to the veneers with minor areas of loss. Usual surface wear (nicks and scratches) consistent with age and use. Mounts all present with even patina. Drawers all open and close smoothly, lower two with locks, no key.
Shorter scale than most commodes, unsure if legs have been shortened.
