A MARASALI PRAYER RUG, NORTHEAST CAUCASUS

approximately 135 by 108cm; 4ft. 5in., 3ft. 7in.

Condition Report:
Dense evenly sheared pile overall approximately 1-1.5mm in depth with slight oxidisation to dark browns lustrous wool and luminous colour. Original end finishes. Side cords probably re overcast. Finely woven, small patin approximately half way up field on left-hand side, adjacent to zigzag surround, approximately 8 by 1.5 cm, clipped a little high but barely visible. Two further areas of repiling on the same level, near centre of field of each, approximately 6 by 1 cm and some small cobbled repairs adjacent.
