A MARINE SCRIMSHAW DECORATED BONE POSSIBLY NORTH EUROPEAN OR TURKISH, LATE 18TH /EARLY 19TH CENTURY The animal bone (lamb?) decorated in the round with approximately 20 ships, and a harbour city, signed/inscribed "MRSCMPHC" 22.6cm long Condition Report: Marks, knocks, scratches, abrasions, signs of age and handling, dirt and discolouration, some marks and staining Ends are both rough and un-finished, partly the decoration appears to have some losses to these edges and later breaks and losses are likely - the bone has oxidised and none of these breaks appears 'new' - there is an old dark crack toward the centre The bone is hollow and light can be see through both alongside the internal bone structureNatural variation due to the organic nature of the material Please see additional images for visual reference to condition and appearance Condition Report Disclaimer
