A MASSIVE AND FINELY-CARVED SPINACH-GREEN JADE TWO-HANDLED VASE AND COVER
QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY
The vase is elaborately carved to each side with a central lotus amongst leafy foliage, surrounded by four of the Eight Buddhist Emblems, Bajixiang, all below a band of cicadas and a band of stylised dragons confronting a shou character. The shoulders are carved with a pair of chrysanthemum handles with loose rings. The cover is similarly decorated with further lotus blooms.
