明治時期 薩摩燒描金故事三足蓋盒
Japanese. Of circular form with three feet, decorated in various coloured enamels and gilt on a crackled cream glaze, the cover with a large panel depicting story scene with Figurines and residences within mountainous landscape, the base inscribed with three character mark. Meiji Period, circa 1900.

Height: 3 in (7.6 cm) Width: 6 1/8 in (15.6 cm)

Provenance: From the Effron Family, who resided in both Northern California and New York City (Lot 1200 - 1201). It was acquired in Tokyo around 1920 by the great-grandparent of the current owner, who worked served as American diplomat in the Far East during the early 20th century.
