A META CARPENTER WILDE SET OF WORKING SCRIPTS FOR MIDNIGHT MADNESS.
WECHTER, DAVID, and MICHAEL NANKIN. Mimeographed Manuscript, "The All-Night Treasure Hunt," 121 pp plus additional production material, 6/11/79-8/28/79, bound in brads (lacking covers), heavily annotated in pencil by Wilde throughout. WITH: estimating copy with location notes, May 3, 1979; file of cutter's script notes; file on camerawork; and clean copy of 2nd draft, 121 pp, 4to, bound in printed yellow wrappers, final title penciled to upper cover by Wilde.

David Wechter and Michael Nankin were hired by Disney straight out of UCLA film school to create family friendly films for the studio. Their first project, Midnight Madness (originally titled "The All-Night Treasure Hunt") follows the exploits of college students engaged in an elaborate scavenger hunt that takes them across the LA basin. The young filmmakers were fortunate to have the talents of Meta Carpenter Rebner Wilde on set to help shepherd the production through. Wilde continued to work into her late 70s; her last film was John Huston's Prizzi's Honor.
