the hood with a pair of freestanding, gilt brass capped, Corinthian columns, the trunk door carved in relief with a lion rampant amongst scrolling motifs, inscribed 'Pro Patria', the plinth base carved with an 'N', the 13 inch brass break-arch dial with silvered Roman chapter ring, with a silvered boss to the arch bearing the date 1728, and signed 'Will Brownlie Hamilton', the weight driven, eight day movement with bell detached but present, with two weights, lacking pendulum rod but bob present,
