Blackwood tray with inset square of fine grain timber, pewter liner, exterior walls decorated in mother of pearl scene of fruit trees with birds, Buddhist scrolls, apron of archaistic scrollwork, similar decoration to corners of top, figural feet with squared brace supports, silver-coloured metal mounted to corners and feet, pewter insert has impressed character mark to underside

The metal mounts to three corners of the top have broken away. All of the mother of pearl inlay appears intact.
