69.8cm nagasa of shinogi zukuri form with iori mune, chu kissaki with maru boshi, kuri nakagojiri, and bohi. Jihada is a very tight ko itame, with some areas of masame and mokume burls. Suguha hamon with ashi and a gunome bump at monouchi and near hamachi on ura. Ubu, mumei, with kiri yasurime. Copper habaki with heavy crosshatching. Copper tsuba with a fierce oni on one side, and a man and his pig caught in a lightning storm, running under an umbrella; possibly of newer manufacture. Plain iron fuchi and kashira with blue tsuka ito and menuki in the form of fans. Plain black saya with iron sayajiri with inome intrusions. With a Japanese Art Swords Record of Sword attributing the sword Hizen Tadayoshi of Kansei period, which would be sixth generation. CONDITION: Blade is in good polish with some scratching and clouding towards kissaki and mossing at boshi. Mounts are good with some handling marks and rubs throughout, but solid.
